Amaryl 1mg Tablets 30 Tablets is an oral blood glucose-lowering drug containing glimepiride, a sulfonylurea antidiabetic agent. It is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when hyperglycemia cannot be managed by diet and exercise alone. Glimepiride works primarily by stimulating the release of insulin from functioning pancreatic beta cells, helping to reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels. It may be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin or insulin.
