Amvasc 5 mg Capsules contain amLodipine, a potent vasodilator that relaxes arterial smooth muscle, reducing blood pressure and myocardial oxygen demand. Indicated for first-line treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension (alone or with other antihypertensives) and chronic stable angina or vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina. Provides smooth 24-hour blood pressure control with once-daily dosing and has a low incidence of reflex tachycardia compared to shorter-acting agents.
