Amvasc 2.5 mg Capsules contain amLodipine, a potent vasodilator that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and reducing the heart's workload. Indicated for hypertension (alone or in combination) and for chronic stable angina or vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina. Provides smooth 24-hour control with once-daily dosing, minimal reflex tachycardia, and excellent tolerability, especially in elderly or diabetic patients. The 2.5 mg dose is commonly used as a starting dose for elderly patients, those with hepatic impairment, or as add-on therapy when higher doses cause side effects like ankle swelling.
