Product Description
Astera Chlorhexidine 0.20% Mouthwash is a professional-strength, alcohol-free antiseptic rinse containing the highest concentration of chlorhexidine allowed for daily use in many countries. It is widely prescribed by dentists for short-term intensive treatment (usually 1–4 weeks) of gum disease, after dental surgery (extractions, implants, scaling), or to control severe plaque buildup and oral infections. Chlorhexidine binds to teeth and oral mucosa, providing sustained antibacterial action against the bacteria that cause plaque, gingivitis, and bad breath. Benefits • Reduces plaque by up to 55–60% and gingivitis by 30–45% • Kills bacteria that cause gum disease and tooth decay • Accelerates healing after dental procedures • Alcohol-free – no stinging or dryness, suitable for sensitive mouths • Long-lasting protection (up to 12 hours after rinsing) • Can be used before and after oral surgery • Proven efficacy used in dental clinics worldwide How to Use • Use twice daily (morning and night) after brushing • Pour 10–15 mL (capful) and rinse/swish vigorously for 30–60 seconds • Spit out – do not swallow and do not rinse with water afterward • Use for maximum 2–4 weeks continuously (longer only on dentist’s advice) • Temporary side effects: brown staining of teeth/tongue (removable by cleaning), altered taste – these disappear after stopping • Not recommended for children under 12 years unless prescribed
