Atorcor 20 mg Tablets contain atorvastatin calcium, a highly effective statin that inhibits cholesterol synthesis in the liver, significantly lowering LDL-cholesterol ("bad cholesterol") while increasing HDL-cholesterol ("good cholesterol") and reducing triglycerides. Indicated for primary hypercholesterolaemia (type IIa), mixed dyslipidaemia (type IIb), homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia, and primary prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients (e.g., diabetes, hypertension). Provides superior LDL reduction compared to many other statins, with proven benefits in reducing heart attack, stroke, and revascularisation risk. The 20 mg dose is a common maintenance dose for moderate control or starting dose in some patients.
