Product Description
Clariva 500mg Tablets 14 Tablets is an oral macrolide antibiotic containing clarithromycin, used to treat various bacterial infections. Clarithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, stopping bacterial growth. It is commonly prescribed for: Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis) Skin and soft tissue infections Helicobacter pylori eradication (in combination therapy for peptic ulcers) Mycobacterial infections (e.g., MAC in HIV patients) Other susceptible infections (e.g., otitis media, Lyme disease in some cases) The tablets are film-coated for easier swallowing and the 14-tablet pack is typical for standard 7-day twice-daily courses or shorter regimens. It is often taken with or without food, though food may reduce stomach upset. Benefits: • Broad-spectrum coverage against common respiratory and skin pathogens • Effective against atypical bacteria (e.g., Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Legionella) • Convenient twice-daily dosing in most cases • Well-tolerated alternative for patients allergic to penicillin • Reliable for H. pylori eradication regimens How to Use: • Adults & children over 12 years: Dosage depends on infection – always follow doctor’s exact prescription (typical examples): Respiratory/skin infections: 250–500mg twice daily for 7–14 days H. pylori eradication: 500mg twice daily (with other drugs) for 7–14 days • Swallow whole with water – do not crush or chew • Can be taken with or without food • Complete the full course even if symptoms improve • Do not exceed the prescribed dosage or duration • Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, under 12 years, have liver/kidney issues, heart rhythm problems, or taking other medicines (especially statins, warfarin, colchicine)
