Product Description
Clavodar 625mg Tablets 20 Tablets is a combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin (a broad-spectrum penicillin) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) in a 500mg/125mg strength per tablet. Clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from bacterial beta-lactamase enzymes, making Clavodar effective against many resistant strains that would otherwise break down amoxicillin. It is commonly prescribed for: Respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, otitis media, pneumonia, bronchitis) Skin and soft tissue infections Urinary tract infections Dental infections/abscesses Bone and joint infections Helicobacter pylori eradication (in combination therapy for peptic ulcers) The tablets are film-coated for easier swallowing and the 20-tablet pack is typical for standard 7–10 day twice-daily courses. It should be taken with food to reduce stomach upset, and the full course must be completed even if symptoms improve to prevent resistance. Benefits: • Broad-spectrum coverage against beta-lactamase producing bacteria • Effective for infections resistant to amoxicillin alone • Convenient twice-daily dosing in most cases • Well-tolerated when taken with food • Reliable choice for complicated or resistant bacterial infections How to Use: • Adults & children over 12 years (or >40kg): Usually 1 tablet (625mg) twice daily or as advised by a healthcare professional • Take with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects • Swallow whole with water – do not crush or chew • Complete the full course (typically 7–14 days depending on infection) • Do not exceed the prescribed dosage or duration • Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, under 12 years, have liver/kidney issues, history of penicillin allergy, or taking other medicines
