Coaprovel 150/12.5Mg Tab 28'S is a prescription fixed-dose combination antihypertensive tablet containing irbesartan 150mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg, formulated to provide effective blood pressure control through two complementary mechanisms. Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (ARB) that blocks the vasoconstrictive effects of angiotensin II, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance and lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that reduces blood volume and sodium retention, contributing an additional antihypertensive effect. The combination of these two agents results in an additive blood-pressure-lowering effect that is clinically superior to either agent used alone at the doses included.
