Crestor 5 mg Tablets contain rosuvastatin calcium, the most potent statin available, that dramatically lowers LDL-cholesterol ("bad cholesterol"), total cholesterol, and triglycerides while raising HDL-cholesterol ("good cholesterol"). Indicated as an adjunct to diet for primary hypercholesterolaemia (type IIa), mixed dyslipidaemia (type IIb), homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia, and primary prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients. The 5 mg dose is the usual starting dose, providing significant lipid-lowering effects with excellent tolerability. Proven to slow atherosclerosis progression and reduce major cardiovascular events.
