Curam 1G Tab 14S is a prescription antibiotic containing co-amoxiclav — a combination of amoxicillin 875mg and clavulanic acid 125mg. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that kills susceptible bacteria by inhibiting their cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, protecting amoxicillin from degradation by bacterial enzymes that would otherwise render it ineffective. This combination significantly extends the spectrum of activity, making Curam 1G an effective option for a wide range of infections. It is commonly prescribed for lower and upper respiratory tract infections including sinusitis, tonsillitis, and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. The 1g high-dose formulation is suited to moderate to severe infections or as an alternative to intravenous treatment in suitable patients. Each pack contains 14 tablets, providing a standard 7-day course when taken twice daily. The full course must be completed to prevent antibiotic resistance.
