Product Description
Dermovate Scalp Application 25mL is a clear, alcohol-based liquid formulation of clobetasol propionate 0.05% specifically designed for thick, scaly, or hairy scalp areas where creams/ointments are impractical. It rapidly reduces severe inflammation, itching, redness, and scaling in conditions such as: Plaque psoriasis of the scalp Severe atopic or seborrhoeic dermatitis Discoid lupus erythematosus (scalp) Other steroid-responsive dermatoses resistant to less potent corticosteroids The liquid spreads easily, dries quickly, and penetrates deeply without leaving greasy residue. Onset of relief usually within 24–48 hours; visible improvement in scaling/flaking within days. Manufactured by GSK; store below 25°C (flammable – keep away from open flame). Benefits • Extremely fast and powerful relief from intense scalp itching and inflammation • Precise nozzle – direct application to affected areas, minimal waste • Alcohol base evaporates quickly – no sticky or oily hair • Highly effective when milder steroids (betamethasone, mometasone) have failed • Small 25mL bottle = 2–4 weeks treatment for most patients How to Use • Apply directly to dry scalp (not wet hair) twice daily (morning + night) initially • Part hair and apply a few drops to each affected area; gently rub in • Wash hands thoroughly after use • Adults: maximum 50mL per week (≈2 bottles/month) • Once symptoms controlled (usually 4–7 days): reduce to once daily or switch to weaker steroid • Maximum continuous use: 4 weeks (unless under dermatologist supervision) • Do NOT cover with shower cap or occlusive dressing unless specifically instructed
