Dexilant 60 mg Capsules contain dexlansoprazole, the R-enantiomer of lansoprazole, in a unique dual delayed-release formulation: the first release occurs in the proximal duodenum within 1–2 hours, and the second in the distal small intestine 4–5 hours later. This provides prolonged plasma concentration and superior 24-hour acid suppression compared to single-release PPIs. Indicated for healing of erosive oesophagitis (all grades), maintenance of healed erosive oesophagitis, and symptomatic non-erosive gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The 60 mg strength is the standard dose for healing erosive oesophagitis or more severe cases. Offers sustained control even when taken without regard to meals.
