Diovan 80 mg Tablets contain valsartan, a potent ARB that selectively blocks angiotensin II receptors, leading to blood vessel relaxation and sustained blood pressure reduction. It is indicated for essential hypertension, heart failure (NYHA class II–IV) when ACE inhibitors are not tolerated, and post-myocardial infarction with left ventricular dysfunction. Diovan provides 24-hour blood pressure control, reduces cardiovascular events, and has a favorable tolerability profile with low incidence of cough compared to ACE inhibitors.
