Duratears Ophthalmic ointmentment 3.5g is a sterile, preservative-free emollient ointmentment designed to relieve symptoms of dry eye conditions like keratoconjunctivitis sicca, exposure keratopathy or after ocular surgery. It forms a protective lubricating film over the eye surface, reducing friction, tear evaporation and discomfort from environmental factors or meibomian gland dysfunction. The anhydrous formula with liquid paraffin (3.55g) and white soft paraffin (25.45g) ensures prolonged contact without blurring vision significantly, though temporary haze may occur. Ideal for nighttime use or severe cases, it's compatible with contact lenses after removal. Manufactured by Alcon to pharmaceutical standards, the single-use tube minimizes contamination risk.
