Product Description
Ferrate Oral Suspension 100mL is a liquid iron preparation used to replenish iron stores in the body and treat iron deficiency anaemia. Each 5mL typically contains ferrous fumarate equivalent to 30mg–50mg elemental iron (check label for exact strength). Iron is essential for haemoglobin production and oxygen transport in red blood cells. The suspension is formulated to be gentle on the stomach compared to some iron tablets, with reduced gastrointestinal side effects. The fruit or mixed flavour makes it acceptable for children and adults who dislike tablets or capsules. The 100mL bottle provides approximately 20–40 doses depending on prescribed strength and age/weight. It is commonly prescribed for: Iron deficiency anaemia (due to poor diet, heavy periods, pregnancy, growth spurts) Prevention during pregnancy or lactation Post-blood loss or chronic illness Shake well before use and store in a cool place after opening. Benefits: • Effectively increases haemoglobin and red blood cell production • Liquid form – easier to swallow and dose for children or those with swallowing difficulty • Pleasant taste improves compliance • Helps reduce fatigue, pallor, weakness and shortness of breath from anaemia • Gentle iron form – lower risk of stomach upset How to Use: • Dosage based on age, weight and severity of deficiency – always follow doctor’s or package exact advice • Typical examples (confirm with label/physician): Adults & children over 12 years: 10–20mL once daily Children 1–12 years: 5–10mL once daily Infants 6 months–1 year: 2.5–5mL once daily • Preferably take on empty stomach or between meals for better absorption • Can be mixed with fruit juice (avoid milk/tea/coffee near dose) • Use measuring device provided for accuracy • Do not exceed the recommended dosage • Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, or taking other medicines
