Flagyl 400 mg Tablets 14's contain metronidazole 400 mg, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that disrupts DNA synthesis in anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. It is indicated for trichomonas vaginalis infections, bacterial vaginosis, amoebic dysentery, giardiasis, anaerobic bacterial infections (including intra-abdominal, skin/soft tissue, bone/joint), and Helicobacter pylori eradication regimens. The film-coated tablets achieve peak plasma levels within 1–2 hours and are usually prescribed for 5–10 days depending on the infection. Well-established safety profile when alcohol is strictly avoided during treatment and for 48 hours after.
