Product Description
Gloclav 228mg/5mL Suspension 70mL is a pediatric formulation combining amoxicillin (a penicillin-type antibiotic) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). After reconstitution with water, it provides a ready-to-use oral suspension for treating various bacterial infections in children. It is particularly indicated for upper and lower respiratory tract infections (such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. The clavulanic acid component helps overcome resistance by inhibiting enzymes that break down amoxicillin, making it effective against a wider range of bacteria. This lower-strength suspension is designed for younger children and milder infections, providing targeted treatment when penicillin alone may not suffice. Benefits • Treats a wide range of bacterial infections effectively • Overcomes antibiotic resistance with beta-lactamase inhibition • Suitable for common pediatric infections like ear and respiratory tract • Reduces duration and severity of infection symptoms • Helps prevent complications from untreated bacterial infections • Pleasant taste improves compliance in children • Broad coverage for both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria How to Use • Shake the bottle well to loosen powder before reconstitution • Add boiled and cooled water (approximately 64mL) to the mark and shake vigorously until fully mixed • Shake well before each use • Use the provided measuring spoon or syringe for accurate dosing • Administer as prescribed by the physician, usually twice daily • Can be taken with meals to reduce stomach upset • Complete the full course even if symptoms improve • Store reconstituted suspension in refrigerator and discard after 7-10 days • Consult doctor if no improvement or for dose based on child's weight
