Glyka MR 60 mg Tablets contain gliclazide in a modified-release formulation that provides gradual drug release over 24 hours for steady blood glucose control. Indicated as second-line therapy in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet, exercise, and weight loss alone are insufficient, or as an adjunct to metformin or other oral agents. Stimulates insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells in a glucose-dependent manner, with lower risk of hypoglycaemia compared to older sulfonylureas. Also offers extra-pancreatic benefits including improved vascular protection and reduced oxidative stress.
