Henacyl 250mg Tablets contain azithromycin dihydrate, a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, leading to bacterial growth arrest. It is indicated for treating mild to moderate infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial sinusitis, acute otitis media, streptococcal pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted diseases like chlamydia or gonorrhea. Azithromycin is also used for traveler's diarrhea, babesiosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease. Its long half-life allows for once-daily dosing, with rapid absorption and high tissue penetration, providing effective symptom relief within 1-3 days while minimizing resistance risks when used appropriately.
