Hidrasec 100 mg Capsules contain racecadotril, a prodrug rapidly converted to thiorphan, which inhibits intestinal enkephalinase. This reduces excessive water and electrolyte secretion into the gut during acute diarrhoea while leaving normal peristalsis unaffected. Clinically proven to reduce stool output by up to 50% within 24–48 hours. Indicated for symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults when causal treatment is not possible. Does not cause constipation or rebound effects.
