Hidrasec 10mg Infant Sachets 16S is a prescription medication containing racecadotril, an enkephalinase inhibitor that reduces hypersecretion of water and electrolytes in the intestines during acute diarrhea. Unlike traditional anti-diarrheals, it does not slow gut motility, making it safer for children. The 10mg sachets are specifically formulated for infants and young children, with an orange flavor for better acceptance. It is used as an adjunct to oral rehydration therapy (ORT) to shorten the duration and severity of acute watery diarrhea episodes, including those caused by rotavirus or other pathogens. Each sachet is dissolved in water, breast milk, or formula for easy administration.
