Product Description
IV Cannula 22G is a sterile, winged intravenous catheter designed for short-term peripheral venous access in adults, children, and infants. The ultra-thin wall and triple-bevelled needle ensure atraumatic insertion and optimal blood flow. The flexible wings allow easy fixation with tape, while the injection valve enables additional medication administration without extra needlestick. Commonly used for slow to moderate infusion rates, blood sampling, and short-term IV therapy in paediatric patients, neonates, and adults with fragile veins. Benefits • Minimal trauma during insertion due to sharp, thin needle • High flow rate for a 22G size (36 mL/min) • Injection port for bolus drugs without disconnection • Wings provide stable fixation and reduce pistoning • Flashback chamber confirms instant vein entry • Colour-coded blue hub for instant size identification How to Use • Select appropriate vein and perform aseptic preparation • Remove cannula from sterile packaging • Hold wings, remove needle cover, and perform venipuncture at 10–30° angle • Observe immediate flashback in chamber • Advance catheter slightly, then withdraw needle while pushing catheter fully into vein • Secure wings with sterile tape or dressing • Connect IV line or lock with saline/heparin as per protocol • Dispose of sharp needle immediately in sharps container • Change cannula every 72–96 hours or as per hospital policy
