Jalra-M 50/1000mg Tablets 60 Tablets is a fixed-dose combination of vildagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor) and metformin (a biguanide), used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes when metformin alone is insufficient or in combination with other agents. Vildagliptin enhances incretin hormone activity to increase insulin secretion and reduce glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner, while metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. This pack provides 60 yellow, oval film-coated tablets for convenient twice-daily use with meals to minimize GI side effects. Rapidly absorbed; vildagliptin metabolized in kidney, metformin excreted unchanged in urine. Not for type 1 diabetes or ketoacidosis; monitor renal function (e.g., eGFR ≥30 mL/min). Manufactured by USV Ltd. (under license from Novartis); store below 25°C protected from moisture.
