Product Description
Januvia 50mg Tablets 28 Tablets is a prescription oral antidiabetic medication containing sitagliptin, a highly selective DPP-4 inhibitor. Sitagliptin works by blocking the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4, which prolongs the action of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). This increases insulin release from pancreatic beta cells and decreases glucagon secretion from alpha cells in a glucose-dependent manner, helping lower blood sugar levels without significant risk of hypoglycemia when used alone. Januvia is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It can be used: As monotherapy when metformin is inappropriate In combination with metformin, sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, insulin or other agents At 50mg dose in patients with moderate renal impairment (dose adjustment required) The tablets are film-coated for easier swallowing, and the 28-tablet pack provides a convenient 1-month supply (once daily). It is weight-neutral and does not typically cause hypoglycemia when used as monotherapy or with metformin. Januvia is well-tolerated with a favorable safety profile in most patients. Benefits: • Improves HbA1c and fasting/postprandial blood glucose levels • Low risk of hypoglycemia when used alone or with metformin • Once-daily dosing for better adherence • Weight-neutral – does not promote weight gain • Convenient 28-tablet pack for monthly use How to Use: • Adults: Take 1 tablet (50mg) once daily at any time of day, with or without food or as advised by a healthcare professional • Swallow whole with water – do not split, crush or chew • Take consistently at the same time each day • Monitor blood glucose regularly as directed by your doctor • Do not exceed the recommended dosage • Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, nursing, have kidney/liver issues, pancreatitis history, or taking other medicines (especially insulin, sulfonylureas or other diabetes drugs)
