Micardis 40 mg Tablets contain telmisartan, a highly selective angiotensin II receptor blocker that relaxes blood vessels by blocking the effects of angiotensin II, resulting in lowered blood pressure. Indicated as first-line therapy for essential hypertension in adults, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensives (e.g., thiazide diuretics or calcium channel blockers). Provides smooth 24-hour blood pressure control with once-daily dosing and has proven cardiovascular protective effects, including reduction in risk of stroke and cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
