Mikozal Cream 30g is a broad-spectrum antifungal cream containing miconazole nitrate 2%, an imidazole derivative that inhibits fungal cell membrane synthesis, leading to fungal death. It is indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by dermatophytes (e.g., tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis), yeasts (including Candida), and pityriasis versicolor. It also has antibacterial activity against certain gram-positive bacteria, making it useful for secondary infected mycoses. The cream is effective in conditions like athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, cutaneous candidiasis, and other superficial fungal infections. Minimal systemic absorption occurs with topical use, providing localized treatment with high skin tolerance.
