Natrilix SR 1.5 mg is a sustained-release formulation of indapamide, a non-thiazide indole diuretic with additional vasodilating properties. It lowers blood pressure effectively with a flat dose-response curve (1.5 mg SR is the optimal dose for most patients) and has a favourable metabolic profile – minimal effect on blood glucose, uric acid, or potassium compared to classic thiazides. It is indicated as first-line or add-on therapy in mild to moderate essential hypertension and is particularly useful in elderly patients, diabetics, and those with metabolic syndrome.
