Negazole 500 mg Tablets contain metronidazole, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that disrupts DNA synthesis in susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Indicated for treatment of bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, amoebiasis (intestinal and extra-intestinal), giardiasis, anaerobic infections (intra-abdominal, skin/soft tissue, bone/joint, CNS), and surgical prophylaxis in anaerobic-contaminated procedures. Also used in Helicobacter pylori eradication regimens (with other antibiotics and PPI). Provides high tissue penetration and excellent efficacy against obligate anaerobes and protozoa. The 500 mg strength allows convenient twice- or thrice-daily dosing for most indications.
