The pleasant strawberry-flavoured, sugar-free liquid is easy to administer to children and patients who cannot swallow tablets. Ondansetron acts centrally and peripherally to block serotonin receptors responsible for the vomiting reflex. One 5 mL dose provides 4 mg ondansetron; dosing is weight- or age-based in paediatrics and indication-based in adults.
