Olmetec 20 mg Tablets contain olmesartan medoxomil, a highly selective ARB that blocks angiotensin II at AT1 receptors, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure without affecting heart rate. Indicated for first-line treatment of essential hypertension in adults and children ≥6 years (dose-adjusted). Provides powerful, sustained 24-hour blood pressure control with peak effect at 2–4 weeks of regular use. The 20 mg dose is the usual maintenance dose for moderate hypertension or when 10 mg is insufficient. Proven to reduce cardiovascular risk and protect kidneys in hypertensive patients with diabetes.
