Product Description
Prime Ichthammol Ointment 10% is a pharmaceutical-grade drawing salve containing 10% ichthammol in a paraffin base. It works by softening skin, increasing local blood circulation, and drawing out pus, foreign bodies (splinters, stings), and infection from boils, carbuncles, and inflamed areas. Long-used in dermatology and veterinary medicine for its mild antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and keratolytic properties. Particularly effective for bringing deep-seated infections to the surface so they can drain naturally. Benefits • Draws out pus and debris from boils and abscesses • Softens hard skin and helps expel splinters or insect stings • Reduces pain, swelling, and redness in inflamed areas • Soothes insect bites and minor skin irritations • Safe for repeated application on intact or broken skin • Non-stinging and well-tolerated How to Use • Clean and dry the affected area • Apply a thick layer of ointment directly over the boil, splinter, or bite • Cover with a sterile gauze or plaster to keep ointment in place • Reapply 1–3 times daily, keeping covered until contents are drawn out • For splinters: leave covered overnight; most will surface within 12–24 hours • Wash hands after application • Discontinue once area has drained or healed
