Product Description
Prime Mercurochrome Solution 30mL is a classic aqueous-alcoholic solution of merbromin (disodium 2,7-dibromo-4-hydroxymercurifluorescein), a organomercuric compound that provides mild antiseptic action. The distinctive bright red colour stains the skin temporarily, indicating the treated area. Long-used in households and clinics for disinfecting minor wounds, scrapes, insect bites, and as a pre-injection skin prep. Although largely replaced by newer antiseptics in many countries due to mercury content, it remains popular in some regions for its traditional efficacy and visible application. Benefits • Mild antiseptic action against bacteria and fungi • Red colour shows exactly where applied – useful for children • Dries quickly and forms a protective film • Soothes minor skin irritations and prevents infection • Long-standing household remedy for small wounds • Easy dropper application How to Use • Clean the affected area first • Apply a small amount directly to minor cuts, scrapes, or burns using the applicator or cotton swab • Allow to dry – the red stain is normal and temporary • Use 2–3 times daily or as needed • Do not apply to large open wounds, deep punctures, or serious burns • Avoid eyes, mucous membranes, and prolonged use on large areas • Stain washes off skin in a few days and from clothes with soap/water
