Product Description
Procid GR 20 mg Tablets contain pantoprazole, a substituted benzimidazole PPI that irreversibly inhibits the gastric proton pump (H+/K+-ATPase), providing rapid and sustained reduction in gastric acid secretion. Indicated for symptomatic treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, acid regurgitation, mild erosive oesophagitis, prevention of NSAID-associated ulcers in high-risk patients, and long-term management of healed reflux oesophagitis. The gastro-resistant (enteric-coated) formulation protects the drug from gastric acid degradation for optimal absorption in the small intestine. Offers fast symptom relief (within 1–2 days) and effective 24-hour acid control with once-daily dosing. Benefits • Fast relief from heartburn and acid reflux symptoms • Heals mild erosive oesophagitis and prevents relapse • Low-dose option for long-term maintenance therapy • Reduces risk of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers • Once-daily dosing for convenience • Well tolerated with minimal drug interactions compared to some PPIs How to Use • Adults: usual dose 20 mg once daily in the morning • Symptomatic GERD/heartburn: 20 mg once daily for up to 4 weeks • Maintenance of healed oesophagitis: 20 mg once daily • NSAID ulcer prevention: 20 mg once daily • Swallow whole with water 30–60 minutes before a meal • Do not crush, chew, or split tablets (gastro-resistant) • Short-term use for symptoms; long-term only under medical supervision
