Product Description
Prolyte ORS Salt Lime Sachets provide a balanced mix of glucose, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium citrate, and citric acid to treat and prevent dehydration caused by diarrhoea, vomiting, excessive sweating, or heat exposure. The reduced osmolarity formulation (245 mOsm/L when prepared) is clinically proven to reduce stool output and vomiting duration compared to older ORS formulas. The refreshing lime flavour encourages fluid intake, especially in children, while the glucose facilitates sodium and water absorption in the intestines. Safe for all ages, including infants, and suitable for travellers or during illness outbreaks. Benefits • Rapidly rehydrates and restores essential electrolytes • Reduces severity and duration of diarrhoea • Pleasant lime taste improves compliance in children and adults • Prevents complications of dehydration (weakness, dizziness, kidney issues) • No artificial colours or preservatives • Convenient single sachets – ideal for home, travel, or first-aid kits How to Use • Dissolve 1 sachet in 200 mL of clean drinking water (do not add sugar or dilute further) • Stir until completely dissolved • Adults: drink 200–400 mL after each loose stool (or 2–4 litres daily in severe cases) • Children: 50–100 mL/kg body weight over first 4 hours, then 10–20 mL/kg after each stool • Infants: as directed by doctor (usually 50–100 mL after each stool) • Drink slowly in small sips; can be given via spoon or cup • Discard unused solution after 24 hours • Continue normal feeding/breastfeeding alongside ORS
