Pumpinox 40 mg Tablets contain esomeprazole, the S-isomer of omeprazole, a highly potent PPI that irreversibly inhibits the gastric proton pump for profound acid suppression. Indicated for healing of erosive reflux oesophagitis (all grades), symptomatic treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), prevention of NSAID-associated ulcers in high-risk patients, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The 40 mg strength is used for more severe cases or when 20 mg is insufficient. Provides rapid symptom relief (within 1–2 days) and high healing rates with once-daily dosing.
