Ringer Lactate Solution is a balanced, multiple-electrolyte intravenous fluid used for restoration of extracellular fluid and electrolyte balance. Upon infusion, sodium lactate is metabolized to bicarbonate, providing an alkalizing effect to correct metabolic acidosis.
