Product Description
Singulair 10 mg Tablets contain montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the action of cysteinyl leukotrienes in the airways, reducing inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and edema. It is indicated for the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma, including prevention of day and night symptoms, prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and relief of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and adolescents 15 years and older. Singulair provides long-term control but is not for acute asthma attacks; patients should have a short-acting rescue inhaler available. The therapeutic effect begins within one day, and it can be used as add-on therapy in patients inadequately controlled on inhaled corticosteroids.
