Tafixyl 500 mg Tablets contain tranexamic acid, a synthetic antifibrinolytic that inhibits plasminogen activation, stabilising blood clots and reducing breakdown of fibrin. Indicated for short-term management of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), prevention/treatment of bleeding after surgery (e.g., dental extraction in haemophiliacs, prostatectomy, cervical surgery), epistaxis, and acute attacks of hereditary angioedema. Provides effective reduction in blood loss with oral dosing and good tolerability when used as directed.
