Tobradex Ophthalmic Ointment 3.5g is a broad-spectrum antibiotic + anti-inflammatory ointment used to treat steroid-responsive eye conditions where bacterial infection is present or suspected (e.g., conjunctivitis, blepharitis, keratitis, post-cataract inflammation). Tobramycin kills susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas), while dexamethasone rapidly reduces swelling, redness, itching, and pain. The ointment base provides longer contact time on the eye surface compared to drops – ideal for nighttime use. Contains no preservatives in some markets. Manufactured by Alcon (Novartis); store below 25°C (do not freeze).
