Voltaren 100 mg Suppositories 5's contain diclofenac sodium 100 mg, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 to reduce prostaglandin synthesis. Ideal when patients cannot take tablets (post-surgery, vomiting, migraine with nausea), it rapidly relieves pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, back pain, dental pain, and dysmenorrhoea. Absorption begins within 30 minutes with peak plasma levels at ~1 hour; bioavailability is equivalent to oral form.
