Zestril 5 mg Tablets contain lisinopril, a long-acting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that relaxes blood vessels, reduces blood pressure, and decreases the workload on the heart. It is indicated for essential hypertension, heart failure (as adjunct therapy), acute myocardial infarction (early treatment), and renal complications of diabetes mellitus (especially in hypertensive type 2 diabetics with microalbuminuria). The 5 mg strength is commonly used as a starting or low-dose maintenance dose.
